Developing an LHD Strategic Plan

Strategic Planning: A How-To Guide for LHDs
Pages from StrategicPlanningGuideFinal

According to NACCHO's 2010 National Profile of LHDs, 61% of LHDs do not have a completed agency strategic plan, one of the three prerequisites for PHAB accreditation. To address this gap, NACCHO has developed a robust how-to guide for undertaking the strategic planning process. Aligned with PHAB's strategic planning requirements, this guide offers step-by-step instructions, important considerations, and modifiable tools and templates for use in any type of LHD.

NACCHO hosted a webinar in May of 2012 that focused on strategic planning at local health departments. Participants learned more about the process and how to use this guide. Visit the Accreditation and QI webinars page to find the webinar archive.
