PPHR National Reviewers

Become a PPHR National Reviewer

Volunteer to review PPHR applications and assess whether they meet the PPHR Criteria to be prepared for emergencies. Benefits include:

  • Learning about innovative practices in local public health preparedness from across the country;
  • Networking with other experienced public health professionals;
  • Sharing your knowledge and experience with applying agencies;
  • Learning about PPHR in preparation for completing your own application.

Qualifications: Reviewers must have a strong understanding of public health preparedness and response. Local health department personnel will be given preference, but qualified candidates from state health departments and other organizations will also be considered. No specific job position is required.

Ideal candidates include public health preparedness planners and responders, training and exercise coordinators, and epidemiologists. NACCHO seeks reviewers from a diversity of professional backgrounds and geographic locations.

Time Commitment: The time commitment is approximately 50 hours over a three month period. Reviewers must also attend a 1.5 day in-person review meeting. NACCHO covers appropriate travel, accommodations, and meals for this meeting.
