Description of Issue(s): In an effort to ensure that CDPH’s healthcare system partners receive the most up-to-date information and have an avenue for expressing concerns and questions to CDPH regarding the H1N1 response, CDPH is conducting weekly conference calls with its healthcare system partners.
Actions taken to address the issue(s): These calls are coordinated and lead by CDPH’s Hospital Preparedness Coordinator. The weekly calls are utilized to provide healthcare system partners with vaccine updates, information regarding surveillance requirements and activities, personal protective equipment, pharmacy issues, FAQs and the publication of the weekly CDPH Flu Update. The target audience for conference calls is hospital infection control practitioners (ICPs), pharmacists and emergency preparedness contacts.
Outcomes that resulted from actions taken: Once the H1N1 response expands to the level where hospitals are experiencing large surges of patients, calls will migrate from a weekly to a daily occurrence.
