Issue Summary: Exceptional cooperation in with Incident Command
Description of Issue(s): Spokane has developed a MIST (Major Incident Support Team)comprised of fire, law enforcement, EMS to assist agencies in Incident Command.
Actions taken to address the issue(s): Their expertise allowed our public health agency to respond to the influenza pandemic without having to question IC, the roles and expectations which differ from our day-to-day operations.
Outcomes that resulted from actions taken: Not only have we strengthened our understanding of IC and partnerships with these community resources, we have provided each of them with a much better understanding of public health and our responsibilities.
