Survey to Assess Local Policymaker Opinion of Potential Smoke-free Indoor Air Ordinance/Regulation


This survey, created by the University of Kentucky College of Nursing Clean Indoor Air Partnership, and modified by the Monroe County Health Department (KY), assesses local policymaker knowledge, beliefs, and attitudes about:

  • Health hazards of secondhand smoke,
  • Public opinion of indoor smoking bans, 
  • Potential economic consequences of indoor smoking bans, and
  • Local government regulation of indoor smoking. 
This survey can be tailored to meet the needs of diverse communities, looking to pass a smoke-free indoor air ordinance or regulation.
