Emergency Preparedness Initiative Guide on the Special Needs of People With Disabilities

This guide from the National Organization on Disability (NOD) is designed to help local managers create an emergency preparedness plan that ensures the safety of people with disabilities. This tool outlines past disaster experiences, how to work and communicate with the disability community, and how to plan for evacuations. The guide emphasizes the incorporation of people with disabilities into existing plans rather than the creation of new and separate plans.
