Emergency Preparedness Response and Recovery Resources (DVD)

The Emergency Preparedness Response and Recovery Resources packet consists of three separate, but related, environmental health emergency preparedness resources.

  • Disc 1 contains the Emergency Preparedness and Response Fundamentals training module. This module addresses: basic environmental health principles, communication in daily work and during emergency response, roles and responsibilities for environmental health professionals during 13 different response actions, and recovery efforts after a disaster.
  • Disc 2 contains the Disaster Strikes-Environmental Health Responds: Stories from the Field training module.  It integrates real-world disaster/emergency response experiences of 22 environmental health professionals into eight Environmental Health Core Competency-based lessons.
  • Disc 3 contains the Emergency Handbook for Food Manager. This handbook informs food managers how to maintain food safety in emergencies, outlines standard food safety and security practices and provides tools to aid in their implementation. In addition to the Handbook, Disc 3 includes a resource titled Emergency Readiness for Food Workers. This material includes photo lessons and a discussion guide which can be used for staff training at food establishments. Finally, Disc 3 includes a Trainer Guide for the Emergency Readiness for Food Workers resource.
