Health Department Budget Cuts in the News

As a result of the economic downturn and state budget woes, local health departments are having to make tough decisions about cutting jobs as well as health services to illegal immigrants and other uninsured residents. As the budget situation heats up in several states, the media has begun to cover these hard choices, often underscoring the importance of local public health services in a community.
