Sandi Galvez, MSW

Bay Area Regional Health Inequities Initiative, CA

Sandi Galvez has worked in a variety of roles in public health and on the social determinants of health over the last 15 years, including HIV/AIDS prevention, community and labor organizing, and immigrant rights. Most recently, she spent eight years at the Alameda County Health Department, where she developed initiatives to build capacity with the health department and community to engage in public health practice focused on health equity. Sandi has lead responsibility for the work of the Internal Capacity and Built Environment Committees of BARHII. Ms. Galvez serves as a Planning Commissioner in the City of Oakland.
