Shelby County Government, TN

Before taking the position as Campaign Coordinator for the Shelby County, TN Office of Early Childhood & Youth in March 2009; Ms Jackson was hired as one of three paid Tennessee staffers for the Obama-Biden campaign. As the West Tennessee Field Organizer she coordinated and managed voter registration and voter turnout efforts for Obama grassroots organizations in West Tennessee. She also structured constituency outreach, speaking engagements and neighborhood leader trainings on behalf of the Obama for America campaign. Ms Jackson organized volunteer support for neighboring battleground states and data analysis for voter targeting. She facilitated meetings with campaign and community stakeholders to develop action plans to increase campaign efficacy. As the Campaign Coordinator Ms Jackson, coordinates infant mortality reduction campaign initiatives and other related campaign activities. She recruits and trains volunteers and coordinates special event planning. She also visits agencies, businesses, faith-based organizations and area neighborhood organizations speaking on behalf of the Infant Mortality Reduction Campaign and Shelby County Office of Early Childhood and Youth. Ms Jackson plans and implements special events like invitations, entertainment, and media coverage. She coordinates campaign headquarters activities with Mayor's and Governor's staff.
