Best Practices and Their Impact on the Six Winnable Battles

Take Care New York (TCNY) is a comprehensive health policy for New York City (NYC). It outlines the city's plans to help all New Yorkers live longer and healthier lives. TCNY 2012 sets specific goals in 10 key areas that were selected both for their public health importance and amenability to intervention and improvement. TCNY's evidenced-based approach to improving population health serves as a model for state and local public health agencies. Presenters will discuss the process by which TCNY was conceived and implemented and the key components that contribute to its success. Discussion will focus on replication and agenda-setting in other jurisdictions highlighting the following elements of the process: prioritization; measurement; engagement; and progression.
