Kidz Bite Back: Changing Course

Sharing Session (90 minutes)
Friday, Jul 16
8:00 AM - 9:30 AM
Room 28
Conference Track:
Policy and System Changes - Impacts and Opportunities

Kidz Bite Back is a kid-created, kid-led, kid-spread movement of fourth and fifth graders to educate America on big fat industries (fast food, soft drink, junk food industries), couch potato companies (children's TV networks and video game companies), and the basics of living healthy. Big fat industries and couch potato companies target kids with advertising and marketing to get them to use and consume their products in excess, instead of moderation. This interactive session engages the audience on counter-marketing/counter-advertising in obesity prevention and gathers opinions on how to leverage a grassroots movement of thousands of kids and parents to change health policies.
