Conference Track:
Best Practices and Their Impact on the Six Winnable Battles

This session will offer local public health officials an opportunity to gain knowledge and skills in responding to a foodborne disease outbreak event through a tabletop exercise. The exercise will focus on communications before and during an outbreak that will improve an outbreak response including preparing for an outbreak; communications between team members and involved agencies; and interactions with implicated businesses, the food industry, and the public. Communication is a key element to achieving public health goals in the community and is critical to leadership of the profession.
