Marketing to Improve Public Health Perception

Community engagement is essential to addressing underlying causes of health inequity. This interactive session will include a clip from the documentary Unnatural Causes, followed by a discussion that demonstrates focused conversations as a method for dialogue and action; a presentation on using community engagement to address health inequity, as done by the King County Equity & Social Justice Initiative; orientation to community engagement resources from the Seattle-King County Advanced Practice Center; and discussion of a case study, hands-on activity, and small group discussion.
