Public Response to Worst Case Anthrax Scenarios
Dates:
5/9/2013 2:00 PM 3:00 PM
NACCHO and the National Public Health Information Coalition will host a webinar from 2-3PM EDT on Thursday, May 9. This webinar will focus on data from a series of three Harvard polling projects that provide valuable insight into the public's likely response to a mass prophylaxis program in the case of an anthrax attack. The polls are built around a “worst-case scenario” in which cases of inhalation anthrax are discovered without an identified location and the entire population of a city/town is asked to receive antibiotic prophylaxis within a 48-hour period. Speakers will examine the critical elements of the public response and public health communication in a bioterrorist event.
