Online Advocacy Guide

When local health officials and staff become involved in the legislative process and share their expertise and experiences with members of Congress and the administration, local health departments collectively have a stronger voice.

NACCHO serves as the voice of local health departments in our nation's capital. NACCHO builds relationships with congressional and administration staff and develops advocacy strategies to influence federal action that affects local health departments. Together, we have the opportunity to influence the outcomes of federal policy debates affecting public health.

NACCHO's online advocacy guide can help you understand the process and provide the necessary tools to communicate effectively with federal policymakers. The links above take you to different sections of the guide.
